Hi! I am Brandon Urbano, a 17 year old photographer from Omaha, Nebraska. While I can’t seem to find where exactly my love for photography stemmed from, I do know that I’ve been studying photography for 7+ years. It all started when I came across a photographer and YouTuber by the name of Peter Mckinnon. I started to edit short videos on iMovie and edit photos in the built-in editor. I quickly grew and in just three years I got my first camera, a Canon EOS RP. Definitely a beginner camera, but little did I know the opportunities it would give me.

I entered high school with some experience, taking pictures here and there of cars, family events, friends, etc. At the beginning of freshman year I got into broadcasting with our school Striv Channel, which got me into football. After having a few teachers, who happened to be the football coaches, I found myself at practice and games, taking pictures. Later on, our cross country team went to the district meet and I shot a few emails and found myself at the meet that night. Those two experiences are where it all started, after that I started taking pictures at basketball and baseball games and more. All thanks to two teachers who gave me a chance.

Freshman year was the beginning, now I am headed into my senior year as part of the newspaper staff for the third year. Being on the newspaper staff keeps me involved again taking pictures, making videos, and more. I now work with the creative team at Creighton shooting sports year round. It is like a dream come true. Working with Creighton continues to teach me a lot and continues to remind me why I love doing this.

After starting with an EOS RP, my go to camera is now a Canon EOS R5 and when a project is big enough I’ll roll with a Canon C70. I launched my website for people to support me by donating whatever they want (since I do all the work for my high school for free) and to create a portfolio for myself.
